The PGA Tour combines specific events on their calendar with other entities. The upcoming Genesis Scottish Open, also a DP World Tour event, is a perfect example of these types of events.

The Scottish Open is one of the non-major events where you will see the majority of the game’s best players, whether they are on the PGA or LIV Golf Tours. The Scottish Open isn’t just a full field event, but is also considered the final run-up to the Open Championship, the fourth and final major tournament of the season.

Let’s take a look at the details of the upcoming Scottish Open:

  • Dates: July 9 -12, 2026
  • Location: North Berwick, Scotland
  • Course: The Renaissance Club
  • Course Details: Par 70, 7,282 yards
  • Field: Genesis Scottish Open
  • Total Purse: $9,000,000

It’s still important to take a look at the past winners of this event:

Scottish Open Past Winners

  • 2025: Chris Gotterup
  • 2024: Robert McIntyre
  • 2023: Rory McIlroy
  • 2022: Xander Schauffele

Let’s take a look at pre-tournament winner odds:

2026 Scottish Open Odds

  • Scottie Scheffler (+500)
  • Rory McIlroy (+920)
  • Jon Rahm (+1300)
  • Xander Schauffele (+1850)
  • Ludvig Aberg (+2050)

When it comes to picks for this event, I’d start with my favorite and long shot picks. The favorite pick is the winner pick I like the most. For the long shot winner, that is a golfer who has over +2000 odds to win. It is a long shot pick for a reason, and finding those can be like finding a needle in a haystack.

Here are my favorite and long shot picks for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open:

MORE FOR YOU

Favorite: Scottie Scheffler (+500)

Long Shot: Wyndham Clark (+3100)

There are those who might bemoan picking Scottie Scheffler when he’s in the field but he is the most dominant golfer in the game currently. On top of that, Scheffler’s odds keep inching higher as he struggles to win events. At +500, Scheffler is a smart play as his game is trending in the right direction.

While Scheffler is by far the most consistent golfer in the game, the hottest golfer might be Wyndham Clark. Clark won the Byron Nelson CJ Cup and the U.S. Open just two weeks after. Clark also had a strong finish at the Travelers Championship, so seeing him at +3100 made it an easy pick for my long shot play.

Top 5 Bets For The Genesis Scottish Open 2026

  • Scottie Scheffler (+114)
  • Tommy Fleetwood (+375)

The amount of times Scheffler has finished in the Top 5 this season out numbers the times he finished outside the Top 5. With that in mind, if I am getting plus odds for Scheffler in the Top 5, I’m taking that bet.

As you’ll see with my picks this week, I am leaning heavy on European players this week. They know how to play in these conditions, feel at home on European soil, and should be able to adapt better than others from around the globe. I like Fleetwood with +375 odds to have a strong finish at the Renaissance Club.

Top 10 Picks For The Scottish Open 2026

  • Rory McIlroy (+104)
  • Matt Fitzpatrick (+194)

I was shocked when I saw Rory McIlroy getting plus odds to finish in the Top 10. I wouldn’t have been surprised at Top 5 plus odds, but Top 10 was a surprise. With that said, I think Rory plays well this week and helps us in the Top 10 category.

Wyndham Clark might be the hottest golfer on tour right now, but Matt Fitzpatrick has had an extremely strong season. Fitzpatrick has won three times on tour, tied with Chris Gotterup for the most in 2026, and I like him to finish in the Top 10 on foreign soil.

Top 20 Value Picks For The Scottish Open 2026

  • Viktor Hovland (+144)
  • Shane Lowry (+198)

The last time we saw Viktor Hovland he was beating Scottie Scheffler in a playoff at the Travelers Championship. Hovland is a streaky golfer, and the hope is he can remain hot as he heads to Scotland.

Lowry is a player who should always play well in these type of events. These courses should feel like home for Lowry, and the hope is he can regain the form he showed early this season and provide a Top 20 finish at the Scottish Open.

Best Prop Bets, Parlays And Bonus Plays For The 2026 Scottish Open

For bonus plays, these are picks which I don’t necessarily hang my hat on, but still provide value for some who want more exotic plays outside of the aforementioned picks. Sometimes bonus plays are parlays, double chances, triple chances, and even some fun plays for that particular event.

Here are the bonus plays for the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open:

Double Chance: Scottie Scheffler or Matt Fitzpatrick (+400)

Triple Chance: Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Aberg (+385)

Top 20 Parlay: Ludvig Aberg, Tommy Fleetwood, Chris Gotterup (+680) %!s()

Multi-channel marketing tends to sound more complicated than it needs to be.

But we live in a world of “more”: more platforms, more campaigns, more assets, and more reporting to explain. The work expands, but the strategy behind each channel is not always clearly defined.

Michael Jackson commands multiple albums charts in the U.K. with two different projects, as both The Essential and the Michael soundtrack rule. Michael Jackson has been referred to as one of the bestselling musicians – and by some estimates, perhaps the bestselling artist – of all time. Sales are not nearly as important in today's music economy as they were when the King of Pop got his start, as these days, millions of music lovers all around the planet choose to consume their music via platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, iHeartRadio and dozens of others.

Some legacy acts have never quite found an audience on these websites, but Jackson certainly has, and his fates on streaming charts improved significantly earlier this year thanks to the release of his biopic, Michael.

Months after that film was released to theaters everywhere and became the top-grossing musical biopic of all time, Jackson finds his way back to the top spot on a streaming roster in the United Kingdom, proving that the singer is still a major player in the business despite the fact that he’s been gone for coming up on two decades.

Michael Jackson Returns to No. 1

Jackson is once again in control of the Official Albums Streaming chart. The U.K.-based ranking looks only at the collections that rack up the most plays on streaming sites in that country. For the past two frames, the star’s The Essential Michael Jackson, one of his most popular compilations in that country, has been stuck at No. 2, but now it is in charge once more.

MORE FOR YOU

The Essential Michael Jackson Rules Again

The Essential Michael Jackson has now ruled the Official Albums Streaming chart six times out of the more than 200 weeks it has spent on the tally. The compilation first reached the summit in mid-May of this year. Since then, the project has only failed to dominate three times, and in each instance, it landed in the runner-up rung.

Michael Jackson Has Charted Only One Streaming Leader

Since first hitting the Official Albums Streaming chart in March 2015 – he landed his first three wins on the tally in that month alone, more than half a decade after his death – Jackson has only conquered the streaming tally once. The Essential Michael Jackson stands as his sole leader, and his second longest-charting title. Another compilation, Number Ones, has held on for even longer. That project has thus far racked up 394 turns on the tally, though, notably, it is not present at the moment.

Michael Still Leads The Soundtracks Chart

The Essential Michael Jackson is not Jackson's only set to appear at No. 1 on a chart in the U.K. this week. Michael: Songs From the Motion Picture is steady atop the Official Soundtrack Albums rundown. The collection, which is of course attached to the movie of the same name, has now spent 10 weeks on the soundtracks-only tally. It has occupied the loftiest rung in all but one frame. In late May, Michael was forced down a peg to No. 2 – the only time it has not led the charge – as Peaky Blinders — The Immortal Man reached the summit.

Michael Jackson Charts Seven Albums In The U.K.

Both The Essential Michael Jackson and Michael: Songs From the Motion Picture appear on multiple rosters. The Essential Michael Jackson is largely on the rise, climbing on three of the five rankings where it appears and keeping at No. 3 on the Official Albums chart. Meanwhile, Michael drops and barely hangs on inside the top 40 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums lists, dipping to No. 39 while simultaneously ruling the soundtracks rundown.

Five additional titles by Jackson appear on at least one chart apiece in the U.K. That roundup includes Thriller, Bad, Off the Wall, the aforementioned Number Ones and HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I.

If you're someone who likes to stay up late and watch TV, you've probably resorted to hiding away in bed with Netflix open on your phone so as not to disturb roommates or family members. There, in the dark, you hold the phone up to your face, squinting at the tiny shapes of the actors onscreen while the glorious expanse of your television sits abandoned the next room over.
