‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2 Reveals A 2026 Release Date On Netflix

The Hunting Wives, originally a Starz production, proved to be a huge hit on Netflix when it came to the service — 1.6 billion minutes watched, hitting No. 1 in the US and staying five weeks on the Netflix top 10 list. That success obviously led to a season 2 renewal, and now Netflix has unveiled a somewhat soon 2026 release date, along with a number of new photos.
The Hunting Wives season 2 is scheduled for Nov. 26, with stars Malin Akerman and Brittany Snow returning to their roles. This time around, Netflix has fully acquired The Hunting Wives and has now made it a global Netflix original series, a welcome addition to its stable.
One thing that stands out about the season 2 release date for The Hunting Wives is that season 1 began last July. November will be a year and five months after the show’s debut — on the short side for how long it takes to release new streaming seasons these days. It’s not quite an annual production, but it’s close enough to be less annoying than a long wait, and it’s an especially rare short turnaround for a show on Netflix.
We also know that season 3 is already in development and being written without an official green light from Netflix, yet. But if season 2 puts up numbers anywhere close to the first season, that may be an easy pickup.
Netflix and other big streamers have suffered from large second-season drops for shows that were popular before, often attributed to these long wait times. The Hunting Wives’ gap is shorter than most, so we’ll see if that helps it. The show was well-liked by critics with an 81% Rotten Tomatoes score, so if season 2 is as good or better, that could spread word-of-mouth and help out.
MORE FOR YOU
It’s not clear the full breadth of competition it will have in November 26, but the show should be one of the higher-profile productions that month.

Here’s the synopsis for season 2:
“At the start of season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?”
Season 1 ended on a dramatic note, obviously with the intention it would be picked up for more, and that’s exactly what happened. Below are a few more photos released by Netflix that show aspects of the new season without giving much away.
It’s still a three-month wait, but that’s better than it could be, and we’ll see how season 2 of The Hunting Wives goes.
