Rosie O’Donnell Meets With Epstein Survivors and Sings ‘I Am Woman’: ‘I’m Sorry That Our Country Is So F—ed Up’
tags:Rosie O’Donnell is showing support to survivors of Jeffrey Epstein‘s sexual abuse and sex trafficking. In a new video posted to her Instagram, O’Donnell met with several survivors and sang a rendition of Helen Reddy’s “I Am Woman” together.
“I know it’s been very hard for you and with very little support,” O’Donnell tells the survivors. “And I’m sorry that our country is so fucked up that this is what you have to live through, because you are all heroes. And you’re going to change how the world deals with child sex abuse.”
Dressed in all white, the group of women stood side by side, raising their fists while singing the moving lyrics. O’Donnell ended the video with pictures of the survivors when they were younger before showing the words “Support Survivors,” followed by “The Epstein Files.”
“After the corrupt AG (Trump’s former personal lawyer) stated no men would be charged in the Epstein files — despite mountains of evidence — I called some Epstein survivors [and] asked them to sing with me a powerful Helen Reddy song that taught me at 10 years old to use my voice,” O’Donnell wrote in her caption.
The former host of “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” and “The View” recently took over as a week-long host of “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in August, where she didn’t hold back on her thoughts about President Trump.
“I’ve been living in Ireland for the past two years because of ‘Mango Mussolini,’ she joked during her monologue. “I read that Project 2025 and said, ‘Gotta get myself out of here!’ And I decided to go to Ireland where people are driven to drink regardless of who’s running their country.”
Kimmel was swept up in yet another controversy with the Trump administration earlier this year after the president launched a campaign to get the late-night host fired over jokes about his wife Melania.
“I support [Kimmel] in what he’s doing with the First Amendment, and our ability as entertainers and citizens to speak out against our government that’s enshrined in the Founding Fathers’ writings about our government, so I think he’s fantastic,” O’Donnell previously told Variety. “And I wish that Stephen Colbert had the same kind of support when it happened to him, because he shouldn’t be gone either.”
