Ford’s Most Exciting Maverick Trims Get Big Price Cuts, and the Hybrid’s Base Price Stays the Same

Ford is giving the Maverick’s pricing structure a bit of a rethink. The compact pickup’s engine options look a little different for 2027 than they did last year, with Ford pulling the EcoBoost turbocharged 2.0-liter from the XL and Lariat trims. Along with changing which engines go where, Ford also played with the Maverick’s pricing, as first reported by CarsDirect.
While customers don’t have as much freedom when it comes to selecting the 2.0-liter EcoBoost, they gain a bit of economic freedom—at least on the Lobo, Tremor, and Lobo High trims. The regular Lobo now comes in at $34,000, which is down $3775 when compared with last year’s model. It’s a similar story for the Lobo High, which starts at $39,000 after receiving a $4270 reduction. The Tremor matches the Lobo High’s $39,000 price tag, thanks to Ford shaving $3490 from its sticker price.
Unfortunately, it’s not roses everywhere for fans of the turbo-four. Ford’s pricing shakeup for the Maverick resulted in the floor for the turbocharged 2.0-liter rising. That’s because, starting with the 2027 model year, Maverick customers will no longer be able to order the base XL trim with the EcoBoost 2.0-liter engine. With the base trim going hybrid-only, the least expensive Maverick equipped with the 2.0-liter is now the all-wheel-drive XLT, which comes out to $32,890 in non-hybrid guise.
At least the base price is still attractive. At $29,990, the Maverick’s base price, which applies to the hybrid XL trim, is unchanged for 2027. Car and Driver reached out to Ford for confirmation that the order guide is accurate. We will update this story when we hear back.
