Wachowski co-founded Anarchists United with Lawrence Mattis and Sarah Marie Flores, and they have helped steer the fellowship as a way to champion artistry, equity and underrepresented voices across film and TV. The program fully operates under Anarchists United Foundation after five years in partnership with Circle M+P (formerly Circle of Confusion).

Once again, it’s a six-month fellowship, but this year, the org didn’t just release the names via press release and pat itself on the back. Wachowski and team explained how they are pivoting and expanding the program’s scope in response to Hollywood’s shifting landscape to include the creator economy, digital storytelling, indie television and emerging media platforms. It “remains rooted in traditional television development” by covering mentorship, mock general meetings, pitch sessions, networking opportunities and the creation of submission-ready pilots, but there will be exposure beyond the studio system.

“The fellowship will still introduce the cohort to traditional pathways in the TV industry, but we also want to focus on alternative and concurrent methods toward building a brand within the industry,” Wachowski said in a statement. “Making television in 2026 looks very different than it did when we first launched this program.”

Fellows receive a $10,000 stipend and will be guided by a mentor roster that includes MACRO’s Fior Fabian, Atomic Monster’s Lizz Gezana, producer-manager Richard Gonzalez, Universal International Studios’ Bobbie Lucas and 3Pas Studios’ Jordan Rubio. The mentors are said to be donating their personal time as a way to “help shape the next generation of TV storytellers” and uplift the fellows.

L.A.-based Bruno works as an actor, writer and director with work that blends existential absurdist comedy with emotionally grounded storytelling. In addition to stage productions at Open Fist Theatre, she co-hosts the Life in Quarters podcast. Deason, a bisexual screenwriter and co-host of the weekly podcast This Feels Bi, has written genre-driven scripts that were recognized by ScreenCraft and Stage 32 x The Blood List competitions.

Granger draws from a background in technology and cybersecurity to create grounded sci-fi and drama. She’s a recipient of both the SFFILM Rainin Filmmakers with Disabilities grant and the Loreen Arbus Fellowship. Chicago filmmaker and entrepreneur Hughes is the founder of Pocket Set Studios and the nonprofit Lights Camera Youth Action. Javier is a multi-hyphenate filmmaker and performer whose dark comedy projects include Halloween Club and the feature Smile or Hug, which premiered at the Bentonville Film Festival. %!s()

The streaming giant has partnered with BuzzFeed, Condé Nast, Hearst Magazines, People Inc and, Tastemade, in addition to Penske Media’s PMX brands including THR, Billboard, Eater, Indiewire, Rolling Stone and Variety.

The video offerings, which range from three-minute shorts to 20-minute episodes, will be “discoverable directly from the Netflix homepage” beginning Aug. 3. Topics will include travel inspiration, cooking ideas, fashion trends, celebrity profiles, home and gardening tips and viral conversations.

The deals with each publisher encompass a mix of licensed archival and ongoing series. THR content being offered will include Hollywood Firsts, Close Collabs, THR in Focus and Inside THR. 

Other content will include BuzzFeed Celeb’s 30 Questions, Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector, Architectural Digest’s Walking Tour, Harper’s Bazaar’s Burning Questions, Billboard’s 24 Hrs With, Variety’s How Well Do They Know?, People’s My Life in Pictures and Travel + Leisure’s Travel Unfiltered.

The videos will be available to members in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

The deal calls for Netflix to carry a selection of top video content from the print and digital publishing groups starting Aug. 3. The streaming giant has teamed with prominent outlets that produce news, feature, lifestyle and how-to video content that complements Netflix’s vast menu of scripted and unscripted material available to its subscribers in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

Among the Variety-produced series to be featured are the popular “Know Their Lines?” which challenges actors, musicians and others to identify their dialogue or lyrics from past performances. Netflix plans to program a range of genres and formats and episode lengths ranging from 2-3 minutes to 20 minutes or more.

The goal is to “offer new ways to discover travel inspiration, cooking ideas, fashion trends, celebrity profiles, home and gardening tips, viral conversations, and more,” Netflix said in announcing the “fan-favorite” content push. Other PMX brands represented in the licensing deal include Billboard, Eater, Indiewire, Rolling Stone and The Hollywood Reporter.

The licensing pact comes as Netflix is steadily diversifying its lineup with video games, podcasts and live events. Variety has significantly expanded its slate of video and social video content in recent years.

To be clear, today's update doesn't mean you can use Anthropic's agent to automate tasks on your phone. Instead, it's a way to keep tabs on what Claude is doing on your computer back home. Anthropic has also updated Cowork to make it capable of running tasks in the background, where previously your device needed a stable internet connection for Claude to do its thing. If Claude needs permission to complete a task, you'll get a notification on your phone, from which you can tell it to move forward. "Nothing ships until you've reviewed and approved it," says Anthropic.

Looking forward, Anthropic plans to unify Cowork with its chatbot, so that you can converse with Claude and give it computer-related tasks from a single interface. Users will see this change occur first on Claude's web client and desktop app. The company also plans to bring projects and artifacts together as well. Projects allows you to group your chats and files around a single topic so that you can make the most of Claude's context window. As for artifacts, they're small apps and games Claude can program for you. I suspect Anthropic might be doing this to give more visibility to artifacts since they're an interesting offering from the company, but I don't see many people engaging with them online, despite the fact Anthropic recently made it easier to do just that .

Episodes of both “The Breakdown” and “My Life in 10 Songs” will arrive on the streaming platform Aug. 3. Both series center around in-depth interviews with artists as they dig into how they made their biggest hits and the songs that shaped their lives. Both archival episodes, and future new episodes, will be available to watch on Netflix. 

Installments of “The Breakdown” have included Dua Lipa talking about “Houdini,” Teddy Swims on “Lose Control,” Tyla on “Water,” Shaboozey on “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” and Doechii on “Denial Is a River.” Meanwhile, “My Life in 10 Songs” has featured Lady Gaga, Travis Scott, Zara Larsson, Zayn, and Jack Harlow.

Rolling Stone is one of several publications that has partnered with Netflix to make its video content available on the platform. Other outlets under the PMX/Penske Media umbrella participating include Billboard, Eater, Indiewire, The Hollywood Reporter, and Variety.
