A standard Blu-ray and DVD are still up for preorder with the same release date of September 22, and there's a small chance we see a restock of the steelbook between now and then. Otherwise, I wouldn't be surprised to eventually see it for up-marked prices on eBay.

Toy Story 5's Limited Edition 4K Steelbook Is Already Sold Out

It's not too hard to see why this particular steelbook got snapped up so fast. The cover art is pretty top of the line, and celebrates Toy Story as a whole instead of being too specific to the new sequel.

All of the artwork is in a unique watercolor style, with the main Toy Story trio as well as some of the new character additions on the front. On the back you'll see a certain emotionally devastating tire swing tree from Toy Story 2 that makes its return in the new sequel.

Aside from being so darn pretty, the other reason this steelbook likely sold out so quick is because there doesn’t appear to be any standard 4K UHD release. In other words, anyone who was looking to grab the movie in 4K UHD was forced into the steelbook option.

Toy Story 5 (Blu-ray)

The standard DVD and Blu-ray are still available at multiple retailers. These feature the same cover art that matches the primary Toy Story 5 poster, showing the team of familiar toys gawking in fear at the sequel's new villain, LilyPad.

The original press release also claimed there would be a new collected set of all five Toy Story movies, but no listings have popped up for that one yet.

Toy Story 5 was originally released in theaters back in June, where it grossed just over $1.1 billion worldwide. IGN’s own review claims it "manages to pull off an adventurous and resonant conclusion," though we had a couple thoughts about Woody’s involvement in the whole thing. The latest Pixar sequel also landed on digital earlier this week and will most likely be streaming on Disney+ by the end of September.

Downes, a British actor with hundreds of credits in video games and animation, previously portrayed Robert in The Last of Us, and numerous roles in every Uncharted title (Atoq Navarro, Tenzin, Talbot, Vincent Perez, Hector Alcazar and more).

Now, Downes has confirmed via social media that he is back for Naughty Dog's next game. "I've been keeping this one quiet for a while..." he wrote in a post on X/Twitter. "The journey continues! Awesome to be working again with the Dawgs!"

The actor also posted a short clip of himself donning performance capture gear, adorned with a Naughty Dog patch. The suggestion here is that Downes is filming at the moment — which fits with the suggestion that Intergalactic still has some way to go until its ready for release. Exactly why Downes is sharing the news publicly now isn't clear, though it's certainly nice to have any tidbit on the secretive project.

Details on Naughty Dog's upcoming sci-fi adventure remain thin on the ground, with the developer offering little update since the game's initial public announcement. A sci-fi action adventure starring a bounty hunter with a cool plasma sword, Intergalactic began early development in 2020 and was revealed at The Game Awards in 2024. Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann previously described the project as the studio's most expansive and ambitious game, and also likely its most expensive.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will star Tati Gabrielle as Jordan, Better Call Saul's Tony Dalton and other returning cast members from prior Naughty Dog games such as Merle Dandridge (Marlene in The Last of Us) and Troy Baker (Joel, Sam Drake).

It's now been six years since Naughty Dog last shipped a new game, though as detailed this week, the studio has been busy in the interim building its now-scrapped The Last of Us Online. Indeed, the bulk of the studio had been working on that project before its cancellation, and only joined the Intergalactic project after it was put aside. Officially, there's still no word on when Intergalactic will launch.

As dedicated as he is to his work at Tesla, he also doesn't forget his roots. After he and his wife lost their low-mile Solstice in the Eaton fire, they picked up this 2006 model with a little something extra under the hood: a 400-horsepower Mallett V8, an LS2 straight out of the Corvette. He tells the whole story during a visit to Jay Leno's Garage.

Too good for Pontiac to build

This is one tastefully converted car. From the outside, the only clue that there are twice as many cylinders under the hood as there should be is the exhaust note. Mallett did not modify the LS2 when it placed it under the clamshell hood. That keeps it quite drivable and reliable. The suspension is reinforced to handle the extra weight without compromising the car's handling, but the original five-speed manual transmission remains. Parts bin sourced from the Chevy Colorado, it can handle the extra grunt. 

We've written about the Solstice Mallett before so I'll leave the more technical details there, but there's something special about hearing them from the man who designed it. The staggered 19- and 20-inch five-spoke wheels are unique, matching how von Holzhausen originally drew the Solstice himself. It's also interesting to hear about how he, Bob Lutz, and a few others had to meet secretly in a locked room to design it, or risk the wrath of the Corvette team.

Leno seems genuinely impressed with the car. It has more than enough power to break the back tires loose, yet is calm and collected when he eases off the throttle. More often then not, though, he gets on it and makes that LS2 sing. Who can blame him? It sounds great, and at about 500 pounds less than a Corvette of its time, it's likely even faster, which was a cardinal sin at GM. I'm glad someone else built it and unleashed the car's full potential. When the new Tesla Roadster absolutely, positively arrives this year, keep in mind that this is not von Holzhausen's first roadster rodeo. %!s()

World number one Jannik Sinner and Britain's Jack Draper have both pulled out of the upcoming US Open through injury.

Sinner has not played competitively since winning the Wimbledon title in July and is dealing with a knee problem.

The 25-year-old's decision comes a day after his great rival Carlos Alcaraz announced he was playing at Flushing Meadows following a four-month absence with a wrist injury.

"Even though I have been working hard with my team and my medical staff, we have now had to make the difficult decision that I will not be able to compete at the US Open this year," said the Italian.

Draper, who lost to Sinner in the 2024 US Open semi-finals, has withdrawn because of the long-term arm injury which has stalled the 24-year-old's progress.

The former British number one was ranked inside the world's top five when he suffered bone bruising in his left serving arm.

Draper looked primed to challenge the dominance of Sinner and Alcaraz, having won the biggest title of his career on the Indian Wells hard courts and reaching the Madrid Open final on the clay.

He has played just 16 matches in the past 12 months and missed all four Grand Slam tournaments this year.

Sinner absence denies another episode of Alcaraz rivalry

Sinner claimed the second Grand Slam title of his career when he won the US Open in 2024 and reached the New York final again last year when he was beaten by Alcaraz.

He lifted his fifth career Grand Slam singles title by beating Alexander Zverev in the All England Club final.

"We have been back on court in Monte Carlo over the last couple of days and have realised that I still need more time to recover from my right knee issue," Sinner added.

"I'm obviously very sad and disappointed, as New York has a special place in my heart."

Sinner and Alcaraz produced a clean sweep of the Grand Slam titles in 2024 and 2025, winning four majors apiece in a duopoly which has morphed into a generational duel.

However, the pair's rivalry has been unable to reach the same heights and intensity.

Sinner's withdrawal means the pair have not both been present at the past three Grand Slams, with Alcaraz's wrist problem forcing him out of the French Open and Wimbledon.

At the season-opening Australian Open, Sinner's shock loss to an inspired Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals stopped a fourth Grand Slam final in a row between him and the 23-year-old Alcaraz.

The pair also contested the title match at the end-of-season ATP Finals, which served to further emphasise how far clear they were of their rivals in the men's game.

This year, they have gone head-to-head only once.

Sinner beat Alcaraz in April's Monte Carlo final which ensured the Italian reclaimed the top spot in the world rankings - a place which he has not looked like relinquishing since.

In his absence, Germany's Zverev will be the top seed at Flushing Meadows, ahead of Alcaraz and Canadian third seed Felix Auger-Aliassime.

The US Open singles main draws start on Sunday 30 August.

Draper unsure of return after 'tough period'

By his own admission, the arm injury which has derailed Draper's career is "complicated".

Scans last year showed the former world number four had bruising on his humerus - the bone that runs from the shoulder to the elbow - in his left arm.

Draper's game is anchored by a big serve and forehand, and the injury stopped him generating power on these shots.

Initially he tried to play through the discomfort, but withdrew from last year's US Open before his second-round match.

The next move was taking time away from playing and allowing the injury to heal as he swiftly decided to curtail his 2025 season.

Draper opted not to play this year's Australian Open in January, then missed the French Open and Wimbledon as he continued to take precautionary measures.

He made his latest comeback at the Canadian Open on 4 August, but the sight of him breaking down in tears midway through his first-round loss to France's Terence Atmane led to further concerns.

Draper did play again nine days later at the Cincinnati Open, but lost in straight sets to Spain's Martin Landaluce after being 5-2 up in the second set.

Now he has decided to take more time away from the tour.

His representatives said he was "gutted" after what has clearly been a "tough period", adding they do not know when he will be back competing.

Analysis: Sinner plays long game as Draper continues to suffer

Seeing the greatest talents go head-to-head at the biggest tournaments - when they are fit, healthy and playing at their peak - is what every sports fan wants.

But, for the third successive Grand Slam tournament, those who love tennis have been deprived of seeing the two standout stars of the men's game in the same draw.

On Thursday, they were given the gift of Alcaraz announcing he was fit to play in New York after a long spell on the sidelines. Sinner's withdrawal on Friday took away some of that joy.

The exact nature of Sinner's knee injury - and the extent of the issue - has not been disclosed by the Italian, although BBC Sport has been told by a member of his team it is not a problem that requires surgery.

Sinner will spend more time having rehab and practice sessions at home in Monte Carlo as he targets a return to the ATP Tour for the Asian hard-court swing in October.

It appears to be another example of a top star taking the short-term pain of missing a marquee event in order for the long-term gain of protecting their body in an ever-demanding sport.

Draper knows all about making that call.

But the patience which the Briton has been required to show with an injury for which there is no quick fix is wearing thin and taking its toll emotionally.

Injuries will always be part and parcel of elite sport. But the glut of physical issues for several leading players will continue to raise questions about whether tennis is doing enough to protect its stars from reaching breaking point. %!s()

'Woes' is the correct term. The continent has been in a constant state of nervousness since the Nord Stream pipeline was blown up in 2022.

My take →  It's incredible that we have satellites that can see into your car from thousands of miles high, but we still don't know who perpetrated one of the largest acts of industrial sabotage of all time. 

The European energy story is one we've been reporting on at CNBC over the last 4 years. We've highlighted how critical U.S. LNG sales are to Germany and other nations, as well as the real risk of 'energy poverty' in wealthy countries like the U.K. Let's be brutally honest: Europe is not just a victim of pipeline sabotage. The continent is being hammered by a number of odd energy policy decisions, from closing zero-emission nuclear plants or shutting down natural gas facilities.

Many rational energy actors are scratching their heads. Climate risk tends to be front and center for many of these policy moves, so it's somewhat ironic that relatively mild weather the last few years has helped 'save' Europe from an even more serious energy situation.

Europe's weather luck may have run out this year, and the war in Iran is going to make things worse. Here's why.

It's been a hot summer across much of Europe. Although air conditioning is not ubiquitous across the continent - at least not yet - its use is increasing. That's raising the need to make power, which is cutting into natural gas storage levels. Europe also gets a big chunk of natural gas from shipped-in imports from the Middle East, United States and - rather ironically - Russia.   

Key Point → Europe has agreed to end all imports of Russian LNG by the fall of next year, with a phase-out starting this year. It's not clear to me how you go from record imports to zero imports in twelve months, but that's the plan. Europe doing Europe things.

This data from Germany's Federal Network Agency - which tracks energy and energy storage levels - is as telling as it is a little scary. It's the "percent of storage levels" for natural gas right now. The blue line is natural gas storage from October of last year through September of this year. The orange line is the same period one year ago, with the shaded grey area a rolling average. You don't have to speak German to read this chart and see that the situation is not ideal.  Natural gas storage levels are lower than last year and right at the bottom end of the rolling average. If Germany has a cold winter and power demand rises to heat homes and businesses, those storage levels will draw down quickly. If that happens, Germany will have to cut back on gas use or face increasingly low levels of gas storage heading into next year.

European demand for natural gas would seem bullish for U.S. exporters Cheniere (LNG) and Venture Global (VG). I say 'seem' bullish because while there's no doubt Europe would like to buy our LNG, market chatter suggests many of those cargos are heading to Asia instead. Much Qatari LNG is now off-line due to Iranian attacks, and Asian buyers will be eager to snap up any excess capacity the U.S. may have.

Diesel fuel prices continue to climb higher. AAA reports the national average at $5.47 per gallon. It's higher than that in many cities around America, including the eye-watering $7 dollars per gallon in parts of California. Nationally, diesel is closing in on its nominal record high of $5.81 set back in June 2022. Piper Sandler notes that diesel and jet fuel inventories fell by a half million barrels last week when they would normally start to stay flat or even higher ahead of the fall. The Iran conflict and Russia's war on Ukraine are also contributing to higher diesel prices as a chunk of global refining capacity is now offline.

RBI → Inflation adjusted, gasoline and diesel were higher back in 2008.  

Speaking of fuel costs, California historically has some of the highest fuel prices in America. Much of that is because of sky-high taxes. The state has the highest gasoline taxes in the country, adding over 70 cents for every gallon you put in the tank. Don't hold your breath hoping those ever go down. It is California, after all.

High gas prices in California aren't just because of taxes. Lack of oil refining capacity is another main reason. Already short on fuel refining, the state lost two other big refineries in the last year. Imports are needed to meet demand. Ships have been the main source of any imported fuel... but that may change in a few years if three companies get their way. If you know the state and its policies, it may seem impossible but the Golden State may get a new pipeline. The project - called Western Gateway - would come courtesy of oil, gas, pipeline and refining companies Phillips 66 (PSX), H.F. Sinclair (DINO) and Kinder Morgan (KMI). When built, the pipeline would connect with some already existing lines around Los Angeles and in parts of the Midwest. Here's our CNBC map of the project. It could also help neighbor Arizona, which, rather bizarrely, relies on California for much of its gasoline imports.

If you're reading this from outside the United States, you may not realize how big California and its fuel demand really are. The state is home to over 30 million registered vehicles. And while a growing number of those cars and trucks are electric, millions of Californians are driving their gasoline-powered vehicles longer distances because they are forced to live farther away from work.  

If built, the Western Gateway could be a pipeline to lower gasoline prices for millions of drivers. But, like with most things oil- or gas-related in California, nothing is certain until its finished. Which in this case will be 2029 at best.

WALL STREET'S TAKE

It's peak summer, which means that analyst calls on energy stocks are drying up faster than parts of red-hot Europe. But this is cool. Our CNBC Pro team helped me dig up data on the 15 energy stocks most owned by giant hedge funds. We know this from filings to the U.S. government. Keep in mind the filing data is for the previous quarter and could have changed between then and when we get the data.

That said, let's dive in.

The most owned hedge fund energy stock is not a household oil and gas name. It's pipeline player Williams (WMB). While we can't know exactly why each fund has bought Williams, I'll speculate a bit and say that the company is aggressively pushing into A.I. and data center action by directly connecting natural gas to power sources.

Chevron is the 2nd most owned energy stock last quarter. That's not a surprise, but the next few may be. Third on the list is another pipeline play, the massive Energy Transfer (ET). That's followed by Devon Energy (DVN), Antero Resources (AR) and Expand Energy (EXE).

Some smaller names that stick out to me on the hedge fund list are Solaris Energy Infrastructure (SEI), ProPetro Holding Corp (PUMP), Golar LNG (GLNG) and BKV Corporation (BKV).

Some of these stocks also have the most upside seen by analysts. Solaris is a full 65% lower than its $95.52 target. The company builds out power infrastructure solutions, things like mobile electricity and other A.I. demands.

Midland, Texas-based ProPetro (PUMP) also is involved in power generation with a big fracking business to go along with it. It's 43% below its consensus price target.

Speaking of pipelines, a company in the news - and also on the hedge fund list above - is Targa Resources (TRGP). The little-talked-about pipeline player announcing a 20-year deal with ExxonMobil (XOM). Targa will help Exxon continue to build out in Texas' Permian Basin and it will add some new land to the company's holdings.
